Ballot overview

• Ballot 162, Sunset of Exceptions, proposed changes to the Baseline Requirements and EV Guidelines.

Proposed changes

• Add two Baseline Requirements items requiring that:
  • the CA signs the Subscriber Certificate on or before 30 June 2016
  • the notBefore field in the Subscriber Certificate has a date on or before 30 June 2016
• Replace the words Beyond 1 April 2015 with Until 30 June 2016 in section 6.3.2 of the Baseline Requirements.
• Modify Section 5 of Appendix F of the EV Guidelines to remove the last sentence, renumber Section 6 to Section 7, and add a new Section 6 stating that a certificate with a Domain Name where .onion is in the right-most label shall not be considered an Internal Name if the certificate was issued in compliance with Appendix F.

• The page also states that voting closed on 16 March 2016.

• The ballot passed with 19 YES, 0 NO, and 5 abstentions from CAs, and 4 YES, 0 NO, and 0 abstentions from browsers.
• The evidence does not mention any IPR exclusion notices.
