Ballot overview

Main rules adopted

• Draft and final agendas for Forum meetings, including virtual, in-person, sub-groups, and committees, will be posted to the public list.

• Minutes become final when approved at a later Forum meeting, or after 2 weeks if no meeting is imminent, and final minutes will then be posted to the public list.
• The Chair may redact parts of the public minutes copy that are identified as private or sensitive by the information discloser or by a member mentioned or affiliated with the subject.
• Messages formally moving a Forum motion and announcing ballot outcomes, including vote and quorum counts, will be posted to the public list.
• Details of who voted for what will continue to be posted as a separate message to the private list.
• In other cases, individuals may choose which mailing list to use, but are strongly encouraged to use the public list for matters other than security incidents or matters requiring commercial confidentiality.
• Members are strongly discouraged from reposting private-list message text to the public list without the author’s permission.

Timing and implementation

• The ballot review period comes into effect at 21:00 UTC on 11 July 2012 and closes at 21:00 UTC on 18 July 2012.
• Unless withdrawn during the review period, the voting period starts immediately afterward and closes at 21:00 UTC on 25 July 2012.
