The “active” certificate page had the wrong chain, and the “revoked” certificate had expired a few days prior to discovery. IdenTrust attributed the issues to a web page coding error for the “active” certificate and to a manual certificate issuance process that caused a late replacement of the “revoked” certificate, leading it to be reported as “expired” rather than “revoked.” IdenTrust stated that the IdenTrust Public Sector root was not currently in use, with no active certificates and no offering on the IdenTrust website, and that no end-entity certificates were affected. IdenTrust corrected the web page coding the same day and completed development of an automated, time-based certificate issuance process to prevent future expired certificates. In later comments, IdenTrust confirmed there were no remaining tasks and that automated monthly issuance of test certificates was proceeding as planned; Mozilla asked whether the bug should be closed and IdenTrust agreed.
