Amazon Trust Services requests EV trust bit removal for affected roots after missing EV test website requirement
Amazon Trust Services opened this bug to request removal of the EV trust bit from five affected roots after a third-party report said it was not hosting EV test websites as required by the EV Guidelines Appendix A. ATS said the issue traced back to a 2019 decision to stop supporting EV certificates, after which it stopped issuing EV and removed the EV test pages. The company said it had checked with Microsoft at the time, but did not check the corresponding EV Guidelines Appendix requirement, so the test-page obligation was missed. ATS also said it submitted a formal incident report with supporting details in bug 2081411. The bug is currently UNCONFIRMED and asks Mozilla what, if anything, is needed to take action on the EV trust-bit removal request.
